Meet the Team
Our passionate and dedicated team brings together a diverse range of skills and expertise to deliver 24/7 biblical teaching and talk radio you can trust. Our mission is to help you grow in your faith in Christ and to be strengthened by the joy that comes from the Lord!
Tom Moffit
President
Tom Moffit brings a lifetime of radio experience to his leadership role at WOAY. At just 12 years of age, he was distributing radio programs throughout the country for a mission group in Japan. He went on to oversee successful radio stations across multiple states and remains laser-focused on sharing sound, biblical teaching in West Virginia. Tom’s mission is to keep the gospel of Jesus Christ on the air 24/7 for the Oak Hill and Beckley communities. He’s also passionate about reaching out beyond the region through tools like web streaming and podcasts.
Favorite Verse: “The LORD is good, a strong refuge when trouble comes. He is close to those who trust him.” (Nahum 1:7)
Dr. Pat Polis
General Manager | Director of CRC | Show Host
Rev. Dr. Pat Polis serves as Director of the Christian Resource Center (CRC), an organization founded in Oak Hill to provide resources and support for local pastors and ministry leaders. He continues that mission today by carrying the work of the CRC to our sister station communities in East Tennessee. Dr. Polis is an author and a certified church consultant specializing in church revitalization. He often draws on lessons from his background as a business leader, a U.S. Army officer, and his 28 years of service as a senior pastor.
Favorite Verse: “My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ in me. So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, Who loved me and gave himself for me.” (Galatians 2:20)
Phil Arlinghaus
Operations Manager | Executive Producer
Before joining the WOAY 860 team, Phil Arlinghaus traveled through West Virginia many times, admiring the landscape while on his way to other radio stations. His background includes work at WTHU in Maryland and WAVA in Virginia, along with production and media management roles at churches across the country. Phil specializes in using his technical skills to serve the Kingdom of God. He joined our radio group in 2015, later relocating to Washington, D.C., to assist with a church plant, before returning to West Virginia to help our listeners grow in the faith.
Favorite Verse: “God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great pleasure.” (Ephesians 1:5)
Kevin Potter
Chief Engineer
An unsung hero of the radio world, Kevin Potter serves as our chief engineer and is the person who keeps WOAY on the air year after year. While our on-air ministries share the gospel from behind the microphone, Kevin rolls up his shirtsleeves to climb, crawl, and work behind the scenes to maintain, adjust, improve, and replace critical equipment. When he’s not at the radio tower in Oak Hill, Kevin often travels to provide engineering support for our sister stations in Tennessee, including WRJZ and WETR in Knoxville and WKTS in Kingston.
Brooke Meyers
Web & Media Specialist | Owner of BAM Digital Creations
Brooke is a contractor with WOAY 860 and its sister stations—Joy Radio, WETR Talk Radio 92.3, 90.1 The Bridge, and WOAY AM 860—serving Knoxville and East Tennessee. Earlier this year, she stepped out in faith, following God’s call to leave an eight-year government career as a Multimedia Specialist. Through that obedience, she launched BAM Digital Creations and now serves Tennessee Media Associates as Content Manager for the stations’ websites and social media platforms.
Favorite Verse: “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose.” (Romans 8:28)
Hannah Day
Web & Media Specialist | BAM Digital Creations Associate
Hannah serves as a contractor for WOAY 860 and its sister stations: WRJZ Joy Radio, WETR Talk Radio 92.3 FM, and 90.1 The Bridge. She entered the radio industry last year after being given the opportunity to work as a Web and Digital Media Specialist with BAM Digital Creations.
During that time, she developed a strong passion for graphic design, receiving hands-on training and quickly growing into her role. Through this experience, Hannah built valuable skills in digital media, content creation, and visual communication.
She currently serves as the Content Manager for our websites and social media platforms, where she helps create engaging content and manages the station’s digital presence.
Outside of work, Hannah is a proud mom of three boys, and her husband serves in the United States Air Force.

Chandler Cruttenden
Operations & Production Specialist
Chandler joined the Joy Radio team as an intern, eager to learn every part of radio broadcasting. While he is gaining experience in production, copywriting, traffic, and sales, his greatest interest is the technical side that keeps the station on the air.
With a background in media and computers—and early experience helping set up a station for Family First Radio—Chandler is excited to grow his skills in RF engineering, broadcast equipment, IT, and networking while supporting the mission of sharing hope through Christian radio.
Favorite Verse: “A man’s heart deviseth his way: but the LORD directeth his steps.” (Proverbs 16:9)
